About us and our Senior Partners
Bearing 21 is a small independent operational consultancy and coaching business that was established in 1999 by Mark Lee, and Pam Bain its principal operating partners. Mark and Pam work closely with their own clients as well as conducting associate work through leading global consultancies.
The Company’s core objective is to deliver value, facilitate sustainable change and bottom line financial improvements to its client through a 3-step process of Exploration, Strategy, and Implementation.
Bearing 21 has the capability to work with small to medium sized enterprises as well as larger corporates and has an extended local and international network of coaches, process consultants and subject matter experts.
Mark is currently working with the Association of British Mentors (ABM) on a voluntary program to support the current government's Help to Grow initiative, and is also a Member of the Gloucestershire Growth Hub mentoring small business owners.
Mark Lee

Mark is a transformation leader with 30 years of international consulting and organisational development experience in the field of business performance improvement, strategy and project implementation. He has led over 90 diverse business performance reviews and global consulting engagements.
His specific functional expertise includes operations management, market and channel optimisation, sourcing and procurement, S&OP and Operational Due Diligence. Working jointly with client boards, C level executives and Private Equity companies is a part of his routine. This functional experience is backed up with strong facilitation and change management competencies.
Mark’s leadership strength is also his ability to work and coach at all levels of a business, managing small teams of SMEs, client taskforce and consultants to understand the individual nuances and needs of businesses, design and implement operational improvement strategies delivering bottom line improvements whilst working in a fast-paced environment.
Earning an MBA from Oxford Brookes in 2002, Mark has recently returned to the UK and is now seeking challenging transformation assignments as a coach, mentor or consultant
Pam Bain

A registered occupational/ industrial psychologist, Pam is an experienced professional with 18 years comprehensive experience in individual and team consulting to a broad range of industries and management levels. Her core areas of speciality lie in people assessment and development and management of large-scale change and transformation projects. She has a specific interest and passion for people development utilising in-depth and thorough development processes and models. Pam is a dynamic, practical and focussed individual who builds sound rapport and trust with clients and team members alike.
Specialties: Routinely directs, supports & manages processes of people optimisation in the areas of: Organisational Diagnosis, Competency Design and Profiling, Individual and Team assessment and development, Executive and Leadership Development, Change Management, Design and Implementation of Communication strategies and processes, Individualised coaching and feedback, Strategic Definition and Cascading workshops, Facilitation, Career Counselling and Planning, Organisational Culture Management
Our roles as consultants, coaches and mentors
Mark and Pam have the capability to work as business consultants providing a specific project-based service to solve a problem on behalf of the business owner alternatively as a coaches to support their client reaching a specific goal themselves by stimulating discussions and providing their client with helpful resources.
As mentor’s they can focus on an individual and not on helping to solve a specific problem of a client. As business mentors they can guide and support you in growing your business by helping you clarify your bigger vision and providing a growth structure that maximises your biggest strengths, captures your biggest opportunities and eliminates your biggest challenges over a long lapse of time.
Business mentors help business owners take their business from where they are now to where they want it to be in the future. They work with you to help you grow and achieve the goals and aspirations that are most important to you. This includes setting long-term goals as well as short-term, the mentor works over a longer time than a coach who will be focused on specific behaviours and skills.
